This is a few days old but I kinda vanished from the face of tumblr since my inbox was getting rather filled to the brim with stupid. 

Ultimately I don’t think you should be embarrassed to be a slash fan. The issue surrounding slash fans saying they’re ‘allies’ primarily because of gay porn is not the same as someone who just finds enjoyment out of the fanfiction or slash community. I have no issue with fanfiction and I have no problem with people shipping characters - it’s only when it starts to take precedence over real problems effecting real people and when those fans try and treat their enjoyment of something which is primarily pornographic as support to the LGBTQ community that a problem emerges. 

That said: don’t feel ashamed of your enjoyment of slash!
