I saw this going around, and felt a photoset would be nice.
Certain types of fungus, when spores, are ingested by insects and begin to take control of the bug’s thoughts. The insect will secure itself to a plant, and then the fungus will kill it and begin to slowly decompose the bug. Spores will rupture out of the carcass and continue on to repeat the cycle.
There are easily hundreds of different specific parasitic fungi for a different kinds of insects.
Fungi are sneaky like that. Candida does this to humans making us crave sugar. :3
